Sleep

You fought so long
This life's onslaught
For all those years
Weaved plots and deceits
With no reprieve and no repose
Your muscles sore
Head filled with more
Intellectual muck that’s mere a bore
At the end there's nought
Come to me and rest your head
Your tired weary dreadful mane
Upon my lap from where we'll watch the stars
Ponder and laugh as they collide
Hold me close and I'll hold you back
There's no returning to the world tonight
Fall asleep warm carefree
Blinded by illusion in intoxicated ease
If you feel like you need to grieve
I'll be here for these wounds to heal
Mend your mind and let you breathe
So much that soon you'll fall in peace
And from then on, you'll never leave.
